World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance an item with the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer 3damage to attack each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment that has a slot. The item must be at least upgraded to blue before a component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A prefix or suffix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense attributes of an armored weapon or. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be created at the Portative Forging Station. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When an individual player upgrade an item, the base item will be replaced by the new item. The same armor will receive an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also have a unique bonus. This could be a problem, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can roll item upgrades . This will cause the item to be traded for a new one, which will have a level 1 base and a different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial but it should not be repeated often since it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, since it grants buffs when the player is repeatedly in or exits water. Requirements

Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Every time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded receives a crit chance boost that it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that was added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades at a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero quality items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items may require different upgrades than normal equipment. For instance they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade to equipment will require different amounts of ingredients for upgrading, in addition to the cost mentioned above.
